ABOUT THE OWNER
Karren has always been surrounded by pets. Growing up in the country, and being from a family of four children, the King family always had pets in the household. A black Lab named Julie was the family’s dog for over 14 years. She was a loved member of the family and accompanied the kids in all of their adventures! She promptly awaited the kids’ school bus every day and walked the kid’s home.
Then there was Ellie Roo, a Springer Spaniel, who is remembered in Karren’s senior pictures. There were also kitties: Rascal, Baby face, Funny face, and Precious. There were hampsters, gerbils, cows and a horse named Sheba. Don’t forget the aquarium of fish and the raccoons and possums that lived out in the pasture! Karren’s mother taught the children to care for all animals in a loving and caring way. Taking care of animals and having pets has always been very important part of Karren’s life.
In college Karren provided pet sitting for friends and family. It was a great way to earn extra money and find a quiet place to study! She had two kitties of her own, Puddin and Buddy.
Karren graduated from Southern Oregon University with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing. She also has two Associate Degrees, Management and Marketing, from Rogue Community College. After 18 years in the retail industry and over 12 years of those as a retail store manager, Karren decided to combine her business background with her love for animals and start Wagging Tails Pet Sitting in June of 2005. She wanted to offer not only home visits, but open environment boarding for those clients that wanted more than traditional kenneling for their dogs.
Karren’s pet family today consists of two pugs, Bella, Abbie and a cat named Harley.
